Introduction and Automation of KPIs
Objective: To determine Key Performance Indicators of Toyota's accessories suppliers and automatically generate a performance review report on a monthly basis.
Steps: To ensure our measurements correctly reflect the performance and capability of suppliers, I tested different Key Performance Indicators on 12 month's worth of data. By comparing the results, two different sets of formula were chosen for two indicators that would show both the monthly details and the overall performance of the supplier based on their warranty claims. Once this foundation was established, I prepared a program that would automatically generate monthly reports in a fast and efficient way. I used Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic to develop the program as shown in the video below.
Results and Achievements: As a result of this program more than 50 reports could be generated in less than 30 minutes, a task that would take more than 5 days to complete otherwise. Being involved in this project was an excellent opportunity for me because not only I was fully responsible for the entire development of the solution but also I was able to see how this development is integrated into Toyota Canada Certified Vender program. This experience also gave me a deeper insight into industrial engineering field.
